The "National Security Five" (Westmoreland, Bachmann, Franks, Gohmert and Rooney) are under assault for a recent letter questioning radical Islamists and their role in the United States government. Why do the elites on the left have such a fear of questioning and understanding the motives of the radical Islamists? Specifically in question is the association of certain staff members of the Obama Administration and their ties to the Muslim Brotherhood. The letter did not attack Muslims nor did it attack any religion, instead it brings into question the motives behind the Muslim Brotherhood and those serving in the Obama Administration and what their ties really are.

Wise’s hiring raises eyebrows

Written by

Is Stan Wise just another in a long line of unethical PSC members?

With the upcoming election and a plethora of important votes coming up for Georgia Power, it is in our best interest to make sure those that we elect can be trusted. We make no judgement here, but would like to present the case so that you may judge Mr. Wise as a voter when entering the polling both.

The facts behind Stan Wise's role on the PSC is presented by way of Kristi E. Swartz and the Atlanta-Journal Constitution.

If you’ve been shopping for a sizable reason to vote against metro Atlanta’s transportation sales tax next month, but have been unable to find one that’s XXL or larger, try this on:

The tax and the people behind it are part of a United Nations plot called Agenda 21.

Laugh if you like. The topic is now center stage in Cobb County, as part of the debate over the penny sales tax, and the contest for chairman of the county commission as well.

T-SPLOST creates 12 new "regional" governments
Tuesday, June 12, 2012
Augusta, GA
The Transportation Investment Act of 2010 (also referred to even in the legislation as the 'Transportation Investment Act') is being called T-Splost all over Georgia. The legislation establishes a new 1% sales tax supposedly dedicated to regional transportation.

The tax covers a 10 year period. The funds are totaled for the region, then allocated based upon 75% a “constrained investment list of projects and 25% discretionary funds based upon an 80% non-state road miles per county and 20% based upon population. Funds are collected by the Georgia Department of Revenue, then transferred to the Georgia Finance and Investment Commission for distribution.
Confusing? You bet. That is intentional.

Lowndes County Republican Party Chairman Objects to Gov. Deal’s Request for Pro T-SPLOST List of City Council Members

On Thursday, June 14th, city manager Larry Hanson received a request reportedly from the Connect Georgia campaign of the Georgia Chamber of Commerce’s Transportation Alliance to provide a list of the elected city officials who support T-SPLOST, and committing the governor to campaign for their reelection in exchange for their support of T-SPLOST. Hanson sent this email:

"Mayor and Council;

Governor Deal has requested a list of all elected officials who support T-SPLOST.  He is willing to make a commitment to campaign for the reelection of any local elected official who will publicly support T-SPLOST.  How should I respond?  If each of you could respond to me I would appreciate it and I will merely pass it along.  I want to be sure I say this was presented in no way as a threat or a negative, just as a commitment to help and support those who support T-SPLOST.  Lt. Governor Cagle is also coming down for a fund-raiser for T-SPLOST soon.  Both of those are vocal supporters and advocates for T-SPLOST.

Thanks, Larry"

With A Potential ROI of 2,700%...or, even 1,350%, why is this bill bad?

There is a rumor that Governor Deal is planning on vetoing HB 456, the Georgia Government Accountability Act.

What is HB 456?

"To amend Chapter 4 of Title 50 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to the organization of the executive branch generally, so as to establish the "Georgia Government Accountability Act"; to provide for a short title; to provide for legislative intent; to create the Legislative Sunset Advisory Committee; to authorize the committee to review and evaluate state agencies' productivity, efficiency, and responsiveness; to provide for the automatic abolition of certain state agencies contingent upon adoption of a resolution by the General Assembly declaring that the state laws applicable to such agency have been repealed, revised, or reassigned; to provide for related matters; to provide an effective date; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes."

This is legislation designed to allow for the review of state government agencies and see where there are inefficiencies and opportunities for consolidation and or elimination of agencies, thus potentially saving taxpayer dollars in the multi-millions, just like Texas experienced after they implemented this Act in 1978.

The specific wording of the bill states that this "review" would be conducted by a "Legislative Sunset Advisory Committee."  Who sits on this Committee?  It is specified right in the bill as:

"50-4-21(a) There is created as a joint committee of the General Assembly the Legislative Sunset Advisory Committee to be composed of seven members of the House of Representatives appointed by the Speaker of the House and seven members of the Senate appointed by the President of the Senate."

The bill passed the 2012 State Senate by a vote of 38 Yeas to 6 Nays in the State Senate.  The bill passed the 2012 State House by a vote of 144 Yeas to 18 Nays.

And, the reason for the anticipated veto, as communicated by the Governor's staff, is that "This will cost $3 million to implement."

According to a Memorandum from the State Senate Research Office ("SRO") that looked at what Florida and Texas implemented with regards to an  "Agency Sunset Review" process for their state governments, the Georgia SRO researched the issue and found that:
  • For Texas, who implemented their Act in 1977, they have abolished 58 state agencies and consolidated 12 others.  Total savings are estimated to be around $783.7 million.  For every dollar spent on the process, Texas has received over $27 in ROI.
  • Florida passed their Act in 2006, and it was likely implemented in 2007.  The Memo does not provide savings experienced yet for Florida, and it could because there is a time-intensive process required to review and analyze agencies and 5 years isn't long enough to determine the savings yet.
The Governor is planning on signing SB 33, the Waste Reduction Act of 2011 (aka "Zero-Base Budgeting Act") into law.

However, without the Sunset Act, it will be a futile gesture.  Because, Zero-Based budgeting requires the sunset process in place in order to work effectively.
PLEASE CALL Governor Deal's Office Today at 404-656-1776 and ask him NOT TO VETO HB 456!

It is time for our Governor to act like the Conservative that is was suppose to be!
APEX, N.C., Dec. 20, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- As the U.S. military withdraws its forces from Iraq, the families of more than 4,000 fallen American soldiers cope with another holiday season without their loved ones. Robert Stokely, the father of a fallen soldier, wanted to bring a sense of closure to his loss by visiting the location in Iraq where his son was killed.  His son, US Army Sgt. Mike Stokely, was killed by an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) attack on August 16, 2005 while serving in the Georgia National Guard.
In November, several organizations volunteered to make Stokely's wish a reality.  Soldiers' Angel, a volunteer, non-profit charity coordinated the visit. TigerSwan donated its services and support for the five day trip. TigerSwan is a North Carolina-based, veteran-owned business that specializes in vulnerability management, global stability and training for military and law enforcement.
James Reese, TigerSwan's Chief Executive Officer, played a key role in planning the in-country support and security for the trip. Reese personally led the team into Iraq which included Robert Stokely, Toby Nunn, executive director for Soldiers' Angel, and Lucian Matthias, cameraman.
"When Soldier's Angel approached me about providing support, I initially hesitated because of the risk," said Reese.  "However, the soldier, leader, husband, and father in me knew it was the right thing to do.  I didn't live my life as a soldier being risk adverse, and I also knew that if it was my son or daughter I would want to do the same thing."
Robert Stokely arrived in Amman, Jordan and linked up with Reese and TigerSwan's Jordan staff.   The group conducted threat briefings before leaving for Baghdad International Airport. Once in Baghdad, the party was greeted by TigerSwan's Baghdad team and escorted down a route that at one time was the most dangerous highway in the world.  Their first destination was the TigerSwan villa within the city to conduct final site visit planning.
The next morning, Robert Stokely and the TigerSwan team put on Kevlar body armor and loaded into armored vehicles. The team drove to the 2005 attack site in Yusufyah, Iraq previously known as the "Triangle of Death."   Approaching a Muslim holiday, Shia pilgrims were walking to Najaf, which caused a heightened security alert.
After a two-hour drive, the team arrived about 1,500 meters from the location SGT Stokely was killed. The team was stopped by Iraqi Security Forces at a checkpoint.   The Iraqi Security Forces refused entry saying the threat was too high.  Reese and his Iraqi head security officer decided to return to the TigerSwan villa and make another attempt the next day.
"It crushed me to turn around in the vehicle and tell Robert that it was not going to happen and to see the tears in his eyes," said Reese. "The threat was too severe. Our first job is to keep our guests safe."
The next day the TigerSwan team assessed the security situation based on a plethora of sources to determine if they would conduct another attempt.  Unfortunately, the threat remained too high and the mission was cancelled.  That afternoon, a car bomb exploded killing several Iraqi citizens and injuring 50 more at a nearby market.
"While I did not get to the exact spot in the road where Mike fell, the trip was great success," said Stokely.  "I had the opportunity to see the area in Baghdad and in Mike's area of operations.  I now have an understanding of where he was, what he was up against and what it was like.  I kept the promise I made to myself.  And in the end, I vainly proved to myself that I would not run scared of Iraq the rest of my life."
The final evening in Iraq, Stokely and Soldier's Angel conducted a heartfelt and emotional ceremony on the rooftop of TigerSwan's villa.  Stokely presented Reese with an engraved marble marker he had made for the visit and a U.S. flag that flew over his son's Georgia gravesite since 2005.  He also had the opportunity to meet an Iraqi father who lost a son in the war and the two men shared their experiences.
"My deepest gratitude goes out to the amazing volunteers who made this trip a reality," said Stokely. "Thank you to the men and women of TigerSwan, Delta Airlines, the National Rifle Association and Soldiers' Angel."

Vote 'NO' March 6th - Coweta SPLOST

Tell the politicians that you don't want a trolley, who is going to pay for the drivers of the trolley? You guessed it, the property tax payer. The SPLOST law does not allow salaries to be paid for by SPLOST, which means that you, the property owner will be paying for at least 4 Trolley Driver's salaries!

Vote 'NO' to a TROLLEY by voting 'NO' to SPLOST.

Save 3 cents on every gallon of gasoline - Vote 'NO' to SPLOST to save 3 cents on every gallon of gas, if gas hits $4 per gallon, you will save 4 cents on every gallon of gas. Better than a Kroger Card!

One method of assault may be to effect in the forms of the Constitution alterations which will impair the energy of the system, and thus to undermine what can not be directly overthrown . . . Liberty itself will find in such a government, with powers properly distributed and adjusted, its surest guardian." (Messages and Papers of the Presidents, George Washington, vol. 1, 210)
